The Bono Ghana Journalist Association, President Larry Paa Kwesi Moses has condemned the act by the Berekum Journalist Association’ in a Presser demanding their balance of soli from four institutions in the Municipality.

According to him, the act is against the code of ethics of the profession.

A group of media practitioners calling themselves, Berekum Journalist Association has been sighted in a circulating video on Social Media accusing four institutions in the area of unfair treatment.

They alleged among other reasons that, some monies budgeted to given to the assembly appreciation for covering events of the said institutions were reduced whiles they have signed for a higher amount on paper. They however gave those institutions a two-week ultimatum to give them their balance of face their wrath.

But reacting to this on Ark in the Morning monitored by Soiree News, the President said there is only one known association in the field of Journalism which is the Ghana Journalist Association but it is not against the laws of the land to form any Association but must be regulated by the mother association.

He stressed that Article 3 of the GJA constitution clearly condemns any form of inducement in the practice of describing "soli" as illegal.

The GJA president added that it is the responsibility of the various media houses to seek to it that, transportations in any form for journalists to go on an assignment are provided.
