The Chief of Tafo, in the capital of the Ashanti Region, Nana Agyen Frimpong Ababio has called on Mr Prempeh Boafo Tony, leader of a New Patriotic Party grass-roots group in the Tafo Pankrono Constituency to have directly consulted him on any begrudging against the Chief Executive of the Municipality.

It has been in recent news that the MCE of Tafo Pankrono, Honorable Fred Obeng has been engaged in certain unscrupulous acts which some members of the New Patriotic Party think it's not the best.

In a press statement released on Sunday, January 10, 2021, headlined, "Tafo – Pankrono Is On Fire, As Angry Grassroots Gives Government Ultimatum To Sack MCE", Honorable Fred Obeng was accused of not supporting the 2020 election campaign, adding that the Municipal has not benefitted any monumental development under his care.

Mr Tony, the leader of the Group has therefore emphasized that if the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo fails to replace him, series of demonstrations will be staged against him.  

However, the Chief of Tafo, Nana Agyen Frimpong Ababio has responded to the allegations and condemned the release.

According to him, no illegalities as mentioned by Mr Prempeh Boafo Tony has been witnessed during the reign of Honorable Fred Obeng and has rather thrown his support for the MCE for the initiatives taken for the welfare of people in the Municipality in terms of tad roads and other developmental projects. 

"I am the custodian of the land and therefore he has no power to stage any protest contrary to my rules because the Asantehene Otumfour Osei Tutu, the Overlord has given Tafo community to me to preside over. ," he said whiles addressing the Media at the palace.

Nana Agyen Frimpong Ababio has advised Mr Prempeh to come in consultation with him to sort out any differences if there is a lack anywhere.

He elaborated that Honorable Obeng is the first MCE of the Municipal and therefore, there is the need to continue his term of office whiles NPP is still in power.
