The Ahafo  Regional Minister, Honourable George Boakye has called on international investors especially South African investors to consider making the region, their preferred investment destination to enhance job creation and business opportunities for the idle youth.

According to the Minister, President Nana Akufo-Addo government was ready to create a sound and peaceful environment for the investors and their businesses to thrive.

The Minister who took South African High Commission Councilor of Economic and his delegation to visit 1000 acre Cocoa Plantation Farm at Sankore in Asunafo South District, Mim quarry site, Mim "bour" 

Mim Lake site in Asunafo North Municipal and Hwidiem Agriculture Village where the Assembly has started rice irrigation farm as part of his two days tour in Ahafo to access investment potentials of the region said that the bigger vision of the current government was to partner with the private sector players and international investors to create massive employment opportunities for the youth who were neglected by the previous government in the region.

Ahafo Region, he said is the current highest producer of Ghana's Cocoa and therefore need investors to set up factors to process the raw materials into chocolate, soap, poultry feed, fertilizer and also add value to its tourism sites,  to create more jobs and generate revenue for development.

The Asutifi South District Chief Executive, Honourable Dwomoh Mensah Robert urged the government to support Hwidiem Agriculture Village Irrigation project since the rain pattern has changed 

The South African High Commission Counselor of Economic, Mr Mzwakhe Lubisi who has expressed the potentials of the region, assured the Chiefs and people of the region, that his outfit will ensure that South African investors and other foreign countries investors be attracted to invest in Ahafo Region.
