Bono East Immigration Repatriates 358 Illegal Migrants  

358 Illegal Migrants have been repatriated to their countries of origin by the Bono East Immigration.  The Bono East Regional Immigration commander, Chief Supt. Enock Abrokwa Annor noted that all the repatriated illegal migrants were from West African countries; Nigeria, Togo, Burkina Faso and Niger.

358 Illegal Migrants have been repatriated to their countries of origin by the Bono East Immigration.
 The Bono East Regional Immigration commander, Chief Supt. Enock Abrokwa Annor noted that all the repatriated illegal migrants were from West African countries; Nigeria, Togo, Burkina Faso, and Niger.


According to him, 48 Nigeriens were intercepted in September at Tuobodom, 55 Togolese were nabbed at Teciman on November 23, 2021and 54 Nigeriens were on December 9, 2021, apprehended. 
He added that 9 Burkinabes were on December 12 arrested behind Abrefi SHS in Techiman. 
Chief Supt. Abrokwa Annor revealed that illegal migration was still on the rise in the tripartite regions despite the dangers associated with it.
He has pleaded with the youth to seek all the needed travel documents before traveling.
He added that it is more dangerous to travel with fake documents since every country is strictly enforcing covid19 protocols.
The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) is in charge of the removal and deportation of illegal immigrants in Ghana. 
The Ghanaian government has agreed to work with other Government and international agencies to prevent illegal immigration inside and outside the country. 
Illegal immigrants and aliens in Ghana specifically concluded; 2.6 million Nigerian nationals, 0.3 million Burkinabe nationals, Togolese, Ivorians, Nigeriens, Malians; and mostly nationals from West Africa and elsewhere in Africa 0.2 million.
