The Akuapem Mampong Magistrate Court in the Eastern Region of Ghana has remanded Kwame Dankwa; accused of murdering a drinking Spot Operator (Yaw Ben Sarfo) over GHc5 in Apirede, near Adukrom in the Okere District.

The accused Kwame Danquah, age 33, was arraigned before the court on Tuesday, 22nd June 2021, on a charge of murder contrary to section 46 of Act 29/60.

He was remanded into Police Custody to assist in investigations of what led to the death of Ben Sarfo.

He is to reappear on July 13, 2021.

The now-deceased persons identified only as Yaw Ben Sarfo was shot twice in the rib and chest by his assailant Kwame Dankwa a farmer on Thursday, June 17, 2021, around 9:00 pm, according to a witness.

The incident occurred during a misunderstanding between the two when the suspect attempted to retrieve his Ghc5 debt from the deceased person.

The deceased allegedly slapped the suspect who also rushed into his room pulled a gun and shot the victim twice in revenge.

He later reported himself to the Adukrom Police.

He was arrested and sent to Akropong Divisional Police Command to assist the investigation.

The Adukrom Police in collaboration with their colleagues of Apirede visited the crime scene and after taken inventory, conveyed the body to Tetteh Quashie Memorial Hospital where he was confirmed dead.
