Over 20,000 birds have been killed by bird influenza also known as bird flu outbreak barely two weeks ago in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality in the Western North Region of Ghana.

Municipal Agricultural Director, Mr Augustine Amaning Kwarteng speaking with Soireenews reporter Nattybongo explained that the outbreak has affected six different farms in two weeks within the Municipality.

 He further indicated that the latest outbreak killed about 8500 birds.

Mr Augustine Amaning Kwarteng took the opportunity to advise the farms to report any unfamiliar reaction or signs of the birds to any nearby agric office or veterinary office for further checks investigation.

The Bibiani-Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal Director of NADMO, Mr Asante Bonnah gave a word of caution to the general public to be extra vigilant about where to patronize fowls from and desist from buying"Donkomi" birds from the market of late and no one should make any attempt to eat or sell any of the affected birds it's against the law and who so ever does that does it in his own risk.
