The Chief of Odoben in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District of the Central Region, Nana Kwame Nyarko Okra and his subjects have called on President Nana Addo Dankwa Addo-Addo and his appointment authorities not to retain Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District Chief Executive, Mr Isaac Odoom for the second term.

They have accused the DCE of non-performance and meddling in chieftaincy matters which has created confusion and tension in the area.

"We are calling on President Nana Addo Dankwa Addo-Addo to do us favour to immediately sack the incompetent Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District Chief Executive before the nominations of the MMDCE's time due," the chief said.

According to Nana Kwame Nyarko Okra, since Mr Odoom resumed work as the DCE of the area, he has demonstrated incompetence, making him the worse DCE in the history of the governance in the district. He lamented that the Chief Executive cannot point out any single project he has initiated when he came to office four years ago and is not fit to file for another appointment.

They suggested the new appointment of the DCE for the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa should be a person who will not discriminate amongst the people in the area.

The Chief also accused the DCE of not visiting the Odoben community, save the 2020 campaign time which depicts his poor relationship with Traditional leaders and residents.

They cautioned President Akufo-Addo that failure to heed their call would compel them to stage a massive demonstration against him and the NPP.

Nana blamed the state of their road especially one from Breman Asikuma through Odoben to Agona Swedru on the DCE for not taking any action on its improvement.

He narrated that constructors came on site prior to the 2020 general election and after the polls left, worsening the state of the road and leaving drivers worrying about how to access the stretch.

According to the residents, most pregnant women die when transported to labour due to the bad state of the road and, therefore, called on the government as much as possible to come to their assistance.
