The District Chief Executive for Kwahu Afram Plains South in the Eastern Region of Ghana, Evans Kyei Ntiri has urged residents of Ekye Amanfrom to remain calm.

The call by the DCE follows anxiety and fear that has gripped the community due to recent killings of two residents -Akwasi Thomas alias Gambo and Dickson Yaw Agyei Danso by the Anti-Armed robbery squad, deployed in the area to clamp down on robbery cases.

The DCE who is the  Chairman of the District Security Council (DISEC) and his entourage visited the community on November 10, 2021, to assure the residents of their safety and that they can freely go about their daily activities.

Afram plains South, Ekye Amanfrom, Maame krobo and surrounding communities have been giving an assurance of security from the DCE.

He also cautioned persons engaged in criminal activities to desist from the act because the law will certainly be applied when they are apprehended.

On the other hand, a team from the police headquarters in Accra have begun investigations into circumstances that led to the death of the two.

The Ekye Amanfrom Zongo Assemblyman, Theophilus Avor on his part said, they support the operations of the Anti-Armed Robbery Squad, however,  they are appealing to them to use legal means in dealing with robbery suspects.
