Residents and road users at Kpambegu, in the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly, are calling on the government to consider their "abortion road" as matter of urgency.

Soireenews visit to the area revealed that the current state of the road poses to be a death trap to the people with checks revealing that, residents find it difficult to move along the street due to dustiness which threatens the health of traders along the road.

Issah Mohammed speaking to Soireenews told, the current nature of the road is disturbing and distracting commerce activities, making it difficult for them to cater for the welfare of the families.

According to him, the mud created when the rains come down makes the road inaccessible as gutters get blocked and roadways created through their homes.

"There are a lot of schools around and the dusty nature of the road makes it tough for them to cooperate with studies. They are forced to use nose masks else their health will be in danger, likewise workers who have established their business by the roadside.

"During the rainy season, because the other side of the road has no gutter, the waters drain through our houses. It's a very big challenge in this community."

The needy residents appealed to authorities to consider the challenge as urgent and fix the road.

"We are appealing to the government to resolve this road challenge."
