The Chief of Henekrom, a suburb of the Nsoatre Traditional area, Nana Hinneh Asumah is appealing to the people of Sunyani West Municipality and Bono Region at large to accept all nominees for the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executive position by the president.

Nana Hinneh stated that it is becoming a norm that anytime Presidents make a nomination for the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executive, there are objections made by some group of people which intends create confusion that affects the development of the various assemblies.

After Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo’s victory on the December 7, 2020, general elections to serve the country on another four-year mandate, he is yet to announce names of MMDCEs and has however ordered for the incumbent to remain at post till further notice. Several concerns have however emanated from the various assemblies to the president to consider nominating Grassroot persons willing to serve and not to be served.

Touching on the way to go to ensure a smooth running of the various assemblies especially the Sunyani West, Nana Hinneh recalled an incident that happened last four years in the Sunyani West where several DCE nominees were rejected by some group of people. The incident according to the chief affected the constituency hence his concerns.

"NPP had names of people for the position last four years but unfortunately, Nana Akufo Addo gave nominated different people and things were tough for us. It created divisions in the community and it is my concern we don't bring out names again, "Nana Hinneh Asumah appealed.

"Nana knows the concerns of the people and will make the best decision for Ghanaians. He will appoint someone who has the interest of the people and his government at heart hence the need to unite and accept any appointment the president makes for the benefit of Sunyani West," he added.
