An airport in Nigeria is investigating a body discovered on the runway.

Human remains were discovered on a runway at Lagos' main airport, prompting an investigation by Nigeria's airport officials.

According to the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, the unnamed person was located during an inspection in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The runway was blocked for nearly two and a half hours to allow for the removal of the body, according to the report.
