According to them, looking at the current high corrupt practices exhibited by Mr. Ashie Moore coupled with the accusation levelled against him of not handing over an amount of money from former President John Dramani Mahama meant for the transportation of delegates in the region during the party’s primaries clearly shows that the former doesn't represents the supreme interest of the party in the region but he is rather elected to amass wealth for himself.

'Ade Coker In Years Of Stewardship Never Embezzled Public Cash But Ashie Moore In Office For 7 Months Pocketed NDC Delegates Cash'
Concerned aggrieved members and supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Greater Accra Region have rendered apologize to former Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the NDC, Mr. Joseph Kobina Ade Coker to forgive them and expressed regret of voting for the current Greater Accra Regional Chairman, Mr. Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore.

"Ghanaians, especially the NDC rank and file are beginning to question the propriety of voting out Mr. Joseph Ade Coker to bring in Ashie Moore. Ghanaians are wondering if the choice of Ashie Moore has served the purpose for which Mr Ade Coker was removed from office, especially when it has been established that Ade Coker, in his twelve(12) years of stewardship never handled or mishandled public cash in such an irresponsible manner.

"... but Ashie Moore in office just for seven (7) months-that is from November 13, 2022 to Saturday May 13, 2023 has committed crime of pocketing and diverting  Mahama's cash to the delegates in the region," the NDC members stated.
Against this background, they mounted intense pressure on the members of National Executive Committee (NEC) and Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the National Democratic Congress to immediately to set up a committee of enquiry to commission a full scale of investigation into the embezzlement of the funds allegation levelled against Mr. Ashie Moore.
"We the Concerned Members of the NDC in the Greater Accra Region hereby wish to call on the party hierarchy to institute a full scale investigation into the matter, in order to bring to finality the cacophonous noises being peddled in the media to the detriment of the party’s image," the NDC members and supporters stressed in a statement copied to Soireenews.com.
They stressed that it is a high time for the two leaderships of the NDC to probe allegations for which Mr. Ashie Moore was being cited for misappropriation and diversion of some amount of money provided by the Flagbearer and former President, H.E. John Dramani Mahama for the delegates of the party in the region in just ended presidential and parliamentary primaries held on Saturday May 13, 2023.
They added that Greater Accra Regional Secretariat of the NDC is such a sensitive and strategic office of the party which oversees the welfare of thirty four(34) Constituencies on behalf of the party.
According to the statement, this office is strategic in the sense that, it is supervising on behalf of the NDC a region that determines the victory of any political party in general elections.
It noted that it has been observed over the period that, any party that wins the Greater Accra region in a general election turns to win the elections, and eventually forms the next government, adding that the the region therefore stands out with a unique reputation that needs to be protected.
"However the NDC leadership in the region seems not to recognize this omen and by that, tend to desecrate the sanctity of the party in the region.
"In recent times, the NDC woke up to a reported scandal involving the current Regional Chairman, Mr Ashie Moore in which he was being cited for misappropriation and diversion of some amount of money provided by H.E. John Dramani Mahama, the Flagbearer meant to facilitate the movements of delegates during the recently held Parliamentary and Presidential Primaries," the statement noted.
The statement emphasised that "Even though from our checks, the chairman tried frantically to defend the allegation on radio, we found all his defence statements porous, devoid of relevant substance."
According to the statement, the chairman claimed in his defence that, all the Constituency Chairmen have been given their due amount based on the number of Delegates in their respective constituencies.
The statement revealed that only delegates who turned up to vote at the polling stations got the share of the money, asking that "What about the monies of those who could not turn up, especially when the Voter Turn Out indicates that, a good number of delegates could not turn up to vote?
That aside, the statement pointed out that there was another issue of infringement of administrative rules pertaining to management of cash in the office.
The statement asked that Why did the chairman withdraw the money deposited in the Account without the knowledge and consent of other regional officers?
It further asked that "Why didn’ the chairman take the money to the party office for transparency sake, but chose to send the money to his house for distribution?
It contained that "How did the Chairman withdraw the money from the bank without the knowledge of the Secretary as stated in an interview on Power FM?
