We Are Suffering; Come And Rescue Us From NPP's O.B Amoah Leadership!--Constituents Endorse NDC Akwapim South New PC-Elect
Information reaching Soireenews.com indicates that the Member of Parliament (MP) for Akwapim South Constituency in the Eastern Region, Mr Osei Bonsu Amoah and  the constituency branch executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are in serious disarray or trouble.

The NPP, which is the most dominant in the constituency, is on the verge of losing that dominance following the increasing affection for the Akwapim South parliamentary candidate for National Democratic Congress (NDC), Madam Lawrencia Adwoa Dziwornu.

This show of affection came to light when Madam Dziwornu embarked on "Thank You Tour" to express overwhelming gratitude to the delegates, sympathisers, members and supporters of the NDC in the constituency.

The NDC PC was accompanied by her constituency executives as they kick-started their Thank You Tour, following the just ended presidential and parliamentary elections.

Madam Dziwornu during her first part of her tour received massive endorsement and support from the several residents, chiefs, youth groups, queen-mothers, clergy, opinion leaders including majority of the supporters and members of the NPP in the constituency.
The majority of the constituents, particularly the supporters and sympathizers of the NPP have openly declared to vote massively for Madam  Dziwornu to snatch the Akwapim South parliamentary seat from the NPP in the 2024 general elections.

Although the Akwapim South Constituency Parliamentary seat has been occupied by the NPP with its current MP is Honorable Osei Bonsu Amoah, the majority of constituents including top members and supporters of the NDC and NPP have tipped Madam Dziwornu to wrestle the seat from the current NPP MP, since he has totally failed the constituents.

"We are now ready to vote for you to win the seat in the 2024 general election so that you will rescue us from the bad leadership that our current MP is delivering to us. O.B Amoah must go now. Mr. O.B Amoah has taken us for granted because he represented us in parliament for so long. He must go for Madam Lawrencia Adwoa Dziwornu to come," the constituents told Soireenews.com.

According to them, the current MP has done a little to lobby to bring the needed social and infrastructural intervention projects and programmes to the constituency since he represented them in parliament.

The Akwapim South constituency seat is one of the seats that has been occupied by the ruling NPP since 2000.

Interestingly, the NPP has occupied the seat for almost 24 years now, their main contender, the NDC, on the other hand, had not held onto the seat for the 24 years. Therefore, the Akwapim South constituency could be described now as a World Bank constituency for the NPP.

However, per the electoral records in the Akwapim South constituency for major the two political parties, NPP and NDC, it clearly shows that since the NDC is going to the 2024 general election with Madam Dziwornu, the party would surely win the seat from the NPP.

The current phenomenon which the members and supporters of the NDC have saw, hence their decision to endorse the parliamentary candidature of Madam Dziwornu and move forward to win the seat for the party.

It has emerged from the empirical evidence on the ground that the political wining grounds are not good for Mr. O.B Amoah again for the upcoming election, who according to some eligible electorate was very unpopular across the constituency.

Speaking in an interview with Sorireenews. com, the Akwapim South Constituency Organiser of the NDC, Mr. Henry Essandor noted that after they held a successfully primaries, Madam Dziwornu has embarked on the tour to  thank the symphaisers, supporters, delegates and members of the party for voting for her to win the primary.

Mr.Essandor who doubles as the Campaign Coordinator for Madam Dziwornu asserted that she assured the NDC faithfuls and sympathisers that with their support she is going to wrestle the Akwapim South seat for the NDC in the 2024 general elections.

"So I would be swore in as the new Member of Parliament (MP) for the Akwapim South Constituency in the 2025," she was quoted by her campaign organiser.

The NDC won the seat in 1992 to 2000, so this is mean that the NDC was able to win the Akwapim South parliamentary seat in the two terms with Honorable Vida Amaadi Yeboah.

Vida Amaadi Yeboah (1944-2006) was a former Ghanaian educator, politician and civic leader.Deputy Minister of Education and Culture from 1988 to 1993, Yeboah helped found the Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) in 1992. Elected member of parliament in 1992, Mrs. Yeboah became a member of Jerry Rawlings' government, serving as Tourism Minister from 1997 to 2000.

"So in the 2000 the NDC lost the seat to the NPP. However for the almost 24 years, the Akwapim South parliamentary seat was taken out from the NDC. So with candidature of the hardworking Lawrencia Adwoa Dziwornu, the NDC is confident of winning the seat from Mr O.B Amoah," Mr. Essandoh stressed.

He stated that the NDC chances of wining the seat in the upcoming election is clear because the grounds were "very fertile for the party."

"Because everybody is calling on the NDC to come and take over the Akwapim South parliamentary seat from the NPP, because the current sitting  MP has occupied the seat for four terms but has not done well," he explained.

He described Madam Dziwornu as a sober reflection, team player and unifier.

He touted that Madam Dziwornu is a mother of all who accommodates everybody.

Mr Essandoh pointed out that she is someone who did not discriminates, saying that the possession of these credentials of Madam Dziworwu has attested to the fact that she has capacity and what it takes to win the seat for the party to bring the needed development to the area.

When asked what makes different between  Madam Dziwornu and the incumbent MP, O.B Amoah, Mr Essandoh noted that she has  contested the seat on the ticket of the NDC in the 20216 general election and lost to Mr. O.B Amoah.

He said that this is second coming of Madam Dziwornu, and that with her earlier political experience in the 2016 general elections, the NDC has changed the dynamics which has positioned the party to win the seat.

For her part, Madam Dziwornu noted that she won the just ended primary because of her earlier track record and achievement in the constituency and called for a united front to wrestle Akwapim South parliamentary seat from the NPP in the general elections 2024.

"This of our internal election is over now so we are one family under one political party. And therefore, l am urging the lossing contestants including few disgruntled members and supporters of the party to bury their differences and join forces with me to work hard to win constituency parliamentary seat for the NDC," Madam Dziwornu stressed.

She noted that having toured various communities to carry some humanitarian supporting activities and services to youths and less underprivileged group of people, she realized that the constituency needed a person at the grassroots who understood the terrain of politics within the area to represent them in the parliamentary.

According to her, empirical evidence on the ground suggested the party needed to present a new candidate to enable the party to win the parliamentary seat from the NPP in the upcoming election.

Madam Dziwornu who is very passionate about the education development of the youths in the area believes it was time for a youthful candidate who was ready to work to change the fortunes of the constituency to be elected to champion his vision on education, health, youth and women empowerment.

She acknowledged the lack of development in the constituency under the leadership of the NPP for the past 24 years which has been compounded by youth unemployment and high poverty.

Through her business experiences, Madam Dziwornu expressed the hope to partner a number of international organisations to help transform the area for the benefit of the people as well as put the youth into apprenticeship and offer them start-up capital to enable them to set up their businesses.

She mentioned that he would come up with innovative ideas and interventions that would have direct impact on the lives of the constituents.

She maintained that she was contesting the 2024 general elections with the primary objective of helping to address the myriad of challenges confronting the constituency if elected MP for the constituency.

Her message is to tackle the poor state of roads in the area by lobbying for immediate government intervention to enable motorists and particularly farmers to cart their goods to market centres.

She bemoaned the lack development and high rate of youth unemployment in Akwapim South and pledged to roll out human centered policies to address these press problems when she wins the parliamentary election in the 2024 general elections.

She revealed that she has embarked on some social and infrastructure developmental projects and programmes by way of supporting the students in the various schools, youths, farmers and less privileged persons in the society in some communities within the constituency.

Madam Dziwornu added that she would continue to lobby for improvement of education, health, road network, social welfare, water and sanitation,  security and electrification developmental projects in the constituency when she is giving the nod become the MP of the area.
