No Road, No DCE, No Vote —Bosome Freho Residents Vow To Boycott 2024 Polls
Residents of the various electoral areas within the Bosome Freho District in the Ashanti Region, have threatened to boycott the upcoming 2024 general elections if the government of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo does not fix the bad road networks, particularly the Ampaha-Duase poor road.

Consequently, the visibly worried residents mounted pressure on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to ensure appointment of a new District Chief Executive (DEC) or reinstate the suspended DCE for Bosome Freho District Assembly, Yaw Danso
According to the residents the deplorable state of the roads has led to a number of road crashes in the district.
Singing war songs amidst chatting of “No roads, No Appointment of DCE, No Vote”, “Fix our road now”, “We are not animals” among others could not fathom why the Ampaha-Duase road has not been tarred despite several assurances by the ventra government.

Speaking in an interview with Soireenews.com, the chief Odikro of Tumiabu, one of the electoral areas within Bosome Freho District, Nana Obeng Sarfo kantanka l  on behalf of the residents appealed to President Akufo-Addo to, as a matter of urgent nominate a new DCE or reinstate the former DCE  Mr. Yaw Danso since no development is taking place within the Bosome Freho District.

He further appealed to the President and their Member of Parliament Honourable Akwasi Darko Boateng to help construct the road linking between Ampaha to Duase.
"Our roads are now in a bad state, farmers cannot get access to vehicle to transport their crops to the market hence most of their crops are spoiling," he lamented
He said when "you come to Tumiabu, they are the leading producer of cabbage, garden eggs pepper and other vegetables but have no proper road to transport their products."
Drivers are lamenting that their work is collapsing since they cannot ply the road anymore especially during raining season.
Teachers posted to Tumiabu are rejecting postings due to poor nature of roads, getting access to health center is difficult due to poor nature of the road.

He complained that sometimes pregnant woman have to deliver on the way to health center since they have to walk for so many miles.
"So we are appealing to the president to consider the above situations at Tumiabu and construct their roads for them even  not coated but shape it for them .
Speaking to some residents of Tumiabu they said they are not going to vote if their roads are not fixed.
It would be recalled that, Yaw Danso, has been suspended over his alleged involvement in illegal mining.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo gave the directive for his suspension following allegations of his involvement in the illegal activity.
The Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Dan Botwe in a letter asked Yaw Danso to step aside for investigation into the claims.
An audio recording in circulation implicates Mr Danso in galamsey.
Some Assembly members in Bosome Freho had called on the presidency to look into the allegations.
Speaking with MMDCEs at a special meeting last week, President Akufo-Addo indicated that Mr. Danso had been invited to defend himself against the charges.

However, the residents stressed that "we need new DCE at Bodome Freho because we are lacking social and infrastructural development."
