NPA Boss Meets Journalists In Northern Region

The Chief Executive officer of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Hon. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid has met Journalists in the Northern Region after touring the area.

At the briefing in Tamale after visiting some facilities, installations centers, and the Buipe petroleum Depot in the Savannah Region, Hon. Mustapha said his outfit is in the region to familiarize himself with industry players.

"I was appointed as the Chief Executive officer for the Authority, as part of knowing the organization is important for me to tour all the offices, facilities and installations that fall under the National Petroleum Authority, you ought to know the organization before you can roll out any strategic work plan". He said.

According to him, he together with his national staff have had meetings with some of their workers in the region and it ended fruitfully.

Hon. Mustapha said the responsibility of the authority is to monitor, regulate and oversee the downstream of the petroleum industry.

Theophilus Mohinu, a leading member of the Authority said management is in the process of revamping the underused fuel Depots in the country.

He revealed that the changes made by BOST had caused the unavailability of petroleum products at most Depots in the country, assuring that they are in consultations with other stakeholders to normalize the situation.

For transparency, he mentioned that gadgets had been installed in the petroleum trucks to monitor the movement of drivers, which he believed, would curb waste of State resources and thievery at the organization.
