A bridge constructed about 10 months ago in Koforidua, near Partners May hotel on the Ministries to Erecdecs stretch of the road in the New Juaben Municipality is being washed away by erosion.

The bridge is now vulnerable due to the purging of water sweeping all the filled sand and bitumen as well as the gravels after the contractor failed to create embarkment for the bridge.

The situation is expected to worsen and shall lead to bridge failure to function in this rainy season as the speed of moving water around the bridge continues to remove sediment-filled around the bridge foundation, leaving behind scour holes.

More so, the integrity of the bridge is seriously compromising especially, the continuous washing away parts of the road that needs to be salvaged before it is too late.

Incidentally, the New Juaben South Municipal Assembly has not called the contractor to order, by informing him to fix the problem despite many concerns raised by commuters and the road users.
