Ex-Barcelona and Spanish ace Andres Iniesta has been reportedly disclosed that Xavi Hernandez is ready to take over from Ronald Koeman at Barcelona.

Reports claim that Barca boss Koeman is heading for the sack at the Camp Nou and there are already rumours that Xavi is at the top of the list when it comes to potential replacements.

And Iniesta, who scored the only goal against the Netherlands in the 2010 World Cup final for the Spanish to lift their first World trophy says his old friend is ready for the challenge to take La Masia from the current mess they are in right now.

When Iniesta was confronted by the press on the possibility of Xavi coming to take Koeman’s place, he said:

“I think so, yes. If you ask me if I imagine Xavi on the Barca bench. Above all, because he’s been preparing and training to coach Barca. He has the confidence to take on this challenge.”

Iniesta was also asked whether he could return to the Camp Nou one day as a coach, the World Cup winner said:

“It’s not where I see myself, but whatever happens, if the moment presents itself, I would consider it.

“What I can tell you is that I would love to return to Barca, that is very clear.

“There are days you think you want to coach, others no, I don’t know. playing right now, it’s hard to visualize anything else. It’s true that I have to think about coaching and see what the possibilities are. What I would like to do and I think I will, is get my badges.”
