A municipality in South Africa has announced that it would file charges against its employees for misbehavior after images of them lounging on top of graves on social media went viral.

According to local media accounts, the workers are from the municipal parks department, which is in charge of maintaining parks and public spaces.

When the photos were taken is unknown.

In a statement, the Kwa-Zulu Natal province's Msunduzi municipality claimed it was aware of "disturbing images."

The statement read, "The municipality will not tolerate such behavior and can hereby certify that procedures are in place for the implicated personnel to be charged for misconduct and for bringing dishonor upon the municipality."
