Why I turned down Kufour's invitation to run for office - Maurice Ampaw

Lawyer Maurice Ampaw has explained why he declined former president John Agyekum Kufour's invitation to enter politics.

Maurice Ampaw claims that he turned down the opportunity to enter politics because of his strong moral principles. He admitted that as a lawmaker, he is too honest to tell lies.

"When my father passed away in 1995, many people attended his funeral in Kukurantumi because  he had won the primary election to challenge J.J. Rawlings at the moment.

President Kuffour inquired, "Is that your father, J.D. Ampaw? He then requested me to join them after I replied "yes."I don't know how to invoke gods for evil purposes, I don't like chaos, I'm not that type, and I don't have that mindset, so let the politicians handle their politics, he said.

Maurice Ampaw added that politics is a game full of evil, lies, and deception and that he believes he would have lost his life if he had joined it earlier while speaking on an episode of Mmra Ne Abrao Mu Nsem on Wontumi TV.

Since most politicians lie and I always speak the truth, I chose to avoid politics after realizing that it wasn't my place in it and that I would have died young if I had.
