To revive the cinematic experience in Ghana, Nana Yaw Twum-Barimah Yeboah, the business manager for Silverbird Cinemas, is advocating for the creation and growth of community theaters throughout the nation.

He stated that people have fallen for that story since there aren't enough theaters, and he strongly believes that Ghana still has a cinema culture.

He also urged stakeholders to move quickly to correct the situation.
"We've not lost the cinema-going culture; it's because we have few of them," he said, discussing Ghana Cinema Agenda: "The Need for Community Cinemas" on Graphic Showbiz's X Dialogue Series.

He brought attention to the predicament in the Ashanti region by revealing that the city has fewer than 330 seats in its theaters, which makes many moviegoers want for a genuine moviegoing experience. (November sees Ghana host the first-ever Africa cinema conference.)

He stated as follows: "Consider a major local film premiere in which a little more than 2000 people can watch it in the entire city. With so few seats available, how can we allow people to enter movie theaters?"

In order to realize the industry's full potential and provide sufficient revenue for local film productions, he pointed out that Ghana required more theaters and screens.

Additionally, Twum-Barimah Yeboah emphasized the times that Silverbird Cinemas had to turn away patrons due to sold-out concerts, demonstrating the unquestionable demand for top-notch entertainment.

In a similar vein, he emphasized the importance of wider theater chains for the commercial success of blockbuster films, using Marvel's enormous profits of $1.2 billion as an example."It's because there are numerous screens everywhere, which adds up to these figures," he continued. He thinks Ghana might more fully experience the culture of going to the movies if there were more theaters.

Alayo Machado, account manager at Filmone Entertainment, Juliet Asante, CEO of the National Film Authority, and Ivan Quashigah, film producer and CEO of Farmhouse Productions, were among the presenters on the program in addition to Nana Yaw Twum-Barimah Yeboah.
