The Old Bailey heard evidence during the two-week trial that Mitchell, a self-described healer, intended to forge a will in Ms Chong's favor in order to steal £700,000 from her inheritance.
The jury was shown surveillance footage of Mitchell entering Chong's home in June 2021 with a sizable blue suitcase before making a five-hour return trip with two cases.
The prosecution alleged that Ms. Chong's body was in the blue suitcase, and that the smaller bag held the financial and personal documents Mitchell would need to forged her will.
Ms. Chong vanished two weeks later, and her horribly decomposed body was found in woodland in the beach town of Salcombe 16 days later.
