The Wenchi Municipal Command of the Ghana National Fire Service has recorded 21 cases of fire-related emergencies in the first quarter of 2022 with domestic covering 4.

DO 3, Mr. Eric Boateng, the Wenchi Municipal Commander of the Ghana National Fire Service made the revelations in an interview with Wenchi-based Radio West monitored by Soiree News.

According to him, data available at the fire station revealed that 5 vehicular fires,10 bushfires, and 2 commercial cases were recorded.

The station recorded fire-free on both industrial and institutional.

The Wenchi Municipal Command of the Ghana National Fire Service recorded a 52 percent increase in fire-related cases in the first quarter of 2022 as compared to the 2021 same period.

In 2021 we recorded 10 unwanted fire outbreaks with 6 domestics he said.

He further explained that 6 domestic fires, 2 vehicular, and 2 bush fires.

He attributed the causes of the fire to disobedience of the citizenry, faulty electrical gadgets, and group hunting among others.

DO 3 Mr. Eric Boateng noted that properties damaged in the fire both in 2021 and 2022 were worth about GH¢ 750,000.00.
