We will resist any intention of imposing independent candidate on us - Fomena NPP youth angrily bites

Some aggrieved youth of the Npp in Fomena constituency of the Ashanti region have held a press conference today February 23, 2022.

Addressing the media today in Fomena, Micheal Ankapong, Aspiring youth organiser said, they will resist any attempt by npp party executives to impose the independent candidates together with his supporters on the faithful Npp supporters within the constituency.

They also demand,

1.The executives of the party to immediate effect explain to them (YOUTH) why Fomena was exempted in the ongoing polling station exercise.

2.A formal letter to clarify on a hear say, that some executives have met with the Independent candidate for Fomena constituency, Hon. Andrew Amoako Assiamah  to bring on board his supporters to contest on party internal elections.

3.to clarify on an alleged bringing of the independent candidate on-oppose coming 2024 election in the Fomena constituency by some executives.

Failure to meet these demands will result in a demonstration in the constituency.

Some aggrieved supporters of the Npp in the Fomena constituency also added their voices.

They say, the new patriotic party (Npp) have won election since 1992 in the constituency but development has been slow due to the current spike in misunderstanding.

An old woman who has been supporting the party for the past  decades is worried about the step by some executives within party.

"When we were pushing cars, walking through the rain and forth for the party to be attractive, where was the independent candidate Lawyer Amoako Assiamah, and now you want to impose him on us based on your personal gains", she stressed.

Adding that, the loyal supporters will resist any attempt by the party authority to impose the independent candidate and his supporters on us.
