 Chief of Traa in the Techiman North District of the Bono East Region, Nana Afena Osei II has attributed the recent rise in youth indiscipline in the country to drugs and alcoholism.

He was speaking at a meeting with parents, teachers and youth of the community alongside health professionals who gave education on the effects of drugs and alcohol. 

Nana Afena Osei II bemoaned the rate of indiscipline among young people and called for swift intervention before the situation escalates.

He has thus, appealed to leaders of various beliefs, government, parents and other stakeholders to as a matter of urgency come together and find a lasting solution to the problem. The chief also implored young people to do away with practices that have the ability to destroy their future.

On her part, the Queen-mother of Traa Nana Amankwaah advised the youth especially girls to take their education serious and stay away from premarital sex.

Madam Patricia Akua Faah, Health Promotion Officer at the Techiman Municipal Health Directorate reiterated their preparedness to collaborate with traditional leaders and all stakeholders to educate the youth on drugs and alcoholism.
