Assin Foso Municipal Health Directorate of the Central Region has seen a dramatic increment in, increasing from  12% cases in 2020, to 12.4% cash in 2021.
According to the Directorate, there are challenges between Midwives and pregnant women with tuberculosis as well as teenage pregnancy which has increased from 12% to 12.4%.
The Assin Foso Municipal Health Director of the Ghana Health Service GHS, Mr. Benjamin Amoako who disclosed this in an interview with soireenews.com advised teenagers especially females to remain chaste and disengage in acts that would derail their future ambitions.
 
He added the arents must not shirk their responsibilities but work tirelessly to provide for the needs of their children to disallow unscrupulous persons from taking advantage of innocent girls.
 
He stressed that the parents should be strong bonding and communication between parents and their children to allow them to share their problems with them, she added
 
Mr. Amoako was speaking at the 2021 Annual Health Sector Performance Review Meeting under the Theme: Achieving Universal Health Coverage Through Effect Stakeholder Engagement."
All Three 3 Sub- Districts in the Assin Foso Municipality including Nyankomasi, Akoti, and Foso Sub-District presented their annual reports for review based on their Objectives, Targets, and Challenges.
Mr. Amoako explained the purpose of the meeting and said the Vision of the Ghana Health Service is to Achieve a Healthy population With universal Access to Quality Health Services.
So it becomes mandatory of the sector to hold annual meetings to check the performance of the sector," he stated.
Mr. Amoako disclosed that there were not enough health staff but he would congratulate his entire Health staff in the Municipality for such a tremendous performance at end of the year 2021 and encouraged them to do more in the upcoming year.
The Midwife in charge of Assin Nyankomasi Sub-District, Mrs. Genevieve Yeboa explained the major causes of teenage pregnancies and said it needs a holistic approach because parents are being irresponsible.
