Sudan delays school opening amid floods

Due to the widespread flooding throughout the country, Sudan has delayed opening its schools.

According to local media, Education Minister Mahmud Sir al-Khatim al-Huri said that the start of the school year, which was originally scheduled to begin this month across the nation, has been postponed to October 2.

The delay in the start of classes is necessary to allow for the restoration and rehabilitation of at least 623 schools that were impacted by the floods.
