President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria has instructed his security agencies to rescue all individuals taken captive by kidnappers and "terrorists" around the country as soon as possible.

He told military and police chiefs in the Nigerian capital, Abuja, that they were not doing enough to end the country's instability.
