The Paramount Chief of Prampram Traditional Area Nene Tetteh Waka Ill

The Paramount Chief of Prampram Traditional Area in the Greater Accra Region, Nene Tetteh Waka Ill, has bemoaned the rampant shootings and killings of innocent people in connection with chieftaincy and land disputes in Ga-Dangme towns and villages.

Nene Tetteh Waka III who doubles as the President of the Prampram Traditional Council condemned the acts and called for a human-centred approach to stop the situation from escalating in the future.

Addressing journalists after the Prampram Traditional Council meeting on Friday, February 10, 2022, Nene Tetteh Waka III expressed disgust over the increasing rate of attacks and killings of innocent people living in the Ga-Dangme State without any cause.

"We are tired of hearing of the news of violence. We are tired of stone-throwing and we are tired of killings and shootings of our men and women in the Ga-Dangme State. We want respect, unity, peace and common destiny in the Greater Accra Region" the visibly worried Prampram Paramount chief told journalists.

According to him, it is now the time for every citizen in the Prampram Traditional Area to love one another and shun away from any negative behaviour which would destabilize the peace and unity of the people in the area.

Nene Tetteh Waka III appealed to Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr George Akufo Dampare to ensure the protection of the lives and properties in Prampram and its adjoining communities.

The Prampram Paramount chief urged indigenes of the area to work together with him and his elders to ensure peaceful coexistence in the area
