Manchester United coach – Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has extended his contract deal to a new three-year deal. Confirmed by Sun Sport.

The Red Devils’ legend, who won the Champions League and Premier League as a player, will now look at the affairs of Old Trafford until 2024, with an option for a further year.

“Everyone knows the feeling I have for this club, and I am delighted to have signed this new contract," the manager said.

"It is an exciting time for Manchester United, we have built a squad with a good balance of youth and experienced players that are hungry for success.

“I have a fantastic coaching team around me, and we are all ready to take that next step on our journey.

"Manchester United wants to be winning the biggest and best trophies and that’s what we are all striving for.

"We have improved, both on and off the pitch, and that will continue over the coming seasons.

“I can’t wait to get out in front of a packed Old Trafford and get this campaign started.” Solskjaer expresses his joy for the new contract signing.

The Norwegian guided the Red Devils to a second-place league finish, coming runners-up to rivals Manchester City.

And they faced further heartbreak after losing on penalties to Villarreal in the Europa League final.

But after impressing in the hot seat, he was handed a permanent contract and last season completed his first full campaign in charge.

But still, the impressive domestic and European run has convinced Old Trafford chiefs to put their trust in Solskjaer even further with a new deal.

Solskjaer returned to United in 2019 after the sacking of Jose Mourinho, initially as caretaker manager.
