Serbia ending visa-free travel for Burundians

In response to accusations from the EU that Serbia is a backdoor for migrants entering the bloc, the government is issuing visas for inhabitants of Tunisia and Burundi.

Indians and Turks are anticipated to soon join them.

In October, the EU Commission warned Serbia that if it didn't stop serving as a transit country for migrants seeking to enter the EU, it might lose its ties to a visa waiver.

In discussions with the leaders of Austria and Hungary on Wednesday, President Aleksandar Vucic agreed to increase police presence along Serbia's southern border, a major crossing point for undocumented migrants.
