Sam Allardyce is set to become the new manager of West Bromwich Albion.

The manager of the club, Slaven Bilic was axed by the club after a poor run of Premier League results following their promotion from the Championship this season.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, Slaven Bilic has ended his less than two years reign at the Hawthorns.

“West Bromwich Albion have today parted company with Head Coach Slaven Bilić,” the statement confirmed.

“Assistant Coaches, Dean Računica and Danilo Butorović, and First Team Coach Julian Dicks have also left the club with immediate effect.

“Albion would like to thank Slaven and his coaching staff for their efforts in achieving promotion last season and wishes them all well in the future,” it added.

The West Midlands club is 19th on the League table, having lost eight and won once with four draws.

The Croatian was discharged from his job after collecting a vital point at the Etihad against Manchester City where they played a 1-1 draw with the former Champions.

He replaced Darren Moore in 2019 and guided the Magpies back in the Premier League after they were relegated in the 2017-18 season.

According to talkSPORTS, Allardyce pulled out of schedule on the platform on Wednesday morning to continue discussions with the club’s hierarchy on a possible appointment.

He is set to be given a six-month contract and would also be in line to receive a substantial bonus should he save West Brom’s from relegation.
