Roberto Carlos has joked that Salah will not get closer to Sergio Ramos when Liverpool meet Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals, predicting that the Los Blancos have a slight edge over the Reds.

Liverpool faces Real Madrid at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano on April 6, 2021, and the much talked about incident is what transpired between Mohamed Salah and Sergio Ramos three season ago when the Reds lost their star man to a serious shoulder injury which put the forwards 2018 World Cup preparations in difficulty.

Ramos is the enemy number one of Liverpool fans whose decision on their starman gave Real Madrid the platform to mount to win the trophy in Kyiv. For the first since 2018/2019, the pair will be meeting and this time, Jurgen Klopp’s side will seek to revenge for the harm caused.

Madrid’s former defender, Carlos has told that the tie will be a tough one between both but the Egyptian will be haunted by what happened earlier.

"Salah isn't even going to get close to Sergio," Carlos joked, speaking to the media after the draw published by Marca.

"It will be an incident that will be talked about a lot."

Liverpool have struggled to maintain their form this season following injuries to Van Dijk, Gomez, Jordan Henderson and a few others with Nat Philips and Ozan Kabak now partnering as centre pair in the Reds recent games.

Although Los Blancos also have their end of the story yet the Brazilian says the first leg to be honoured in the Spanish capital is an opportunity for Zidane’s men to kill the game before the second leg at Anfield.

"We're going to play against a good team," he added.

"The first match is at home, and Real Madrid's form is much better, they must decide the tie at home.

"The important thing is that Zidane has all his players ready and that the injured ones come back as quickly as possible."
