Liverpool’s manager, Jurgen Klopp has allayed fears that Sadio Mane’s injury might not be too bad after he was forced off against Wolves at the Molineux on Thursday night.

The Red extended their unbeaten run to 40 games after a 2-0 win on the night Goals from Jordan Henderson in the first half and a late strike from Roberto Firmino gave the Reds a deserving victory after a hard fought tie.

The Senegalese was forced off in the 33-minute holding his hamstring and was replaced by Takumi Minamino.

Speaking after the game, the manager assured and hoped of no greater damage to his key man.

"Sadio is a real shame he had to go off," he said. "Hopefully it's not too bad - just a muscle tweak, but we will see tomorrow."

When asked on Liverpool’s 67 points from a possible 69 in the Premier League this season, at least five more than any side in English top-flight history, the manager revealed that he is not much into knowing the points amassed but only focused on his game one after the other.

"I don't think about it, I had to ask about exactly the amount of points, that's the truth, I really forgot in the week.

The Reds will play Shrewsbury in the FA Cup on Sunday before travelling to West Ham United to cover their game in hand.

A win will extend their lead to 19 points yet Klopp still does not want to take every game for granted disclosing that finding solutions to prevail in games is the most important thing especially with a fit squad.

"I didn't think about it, I know we play Sunday at Shrewsbury (in the FA Cup), I know we play Wednesday at West Ham and I know we play Saturday.

"That's three games in seven days which is a lot. We lost Sadio Mane (to a hamstring injury) and that's the pressure I think about. All the rest is no pressure.

"The message that 'you can lose six games' [and still win the title], I could vomit when I hear that to be honest.

"So just let's carry on. We have to find solutions for all the different games. Let's work on that, and that's probably without Sadio.
