The Bono Regional Commander of the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service, Supt Stephen Tenkorang has said, Ghanaians must note that road crashes are a nationwide problem and needs a holistic approach to tackle it.

According to him, certain activities cause an increase in the occurrence of road crashes in the country and needs to be tackled with all effort.

He revealed that road accidents reduced drastically during the COVID-19 era when there was lockdown in some parts of the country.

Speaking on Ark in the morning show monitored by Soiree News on Tuesday while responding to the recent increase in road accidents,  the MTTD Commander said, there is the need to increase activities that help reduce crashes.

He disclosed that the strategy that is launched and implemented during the festive season, according to the Commander must be continued throughout the year to help reduce crashes after the season.

He revealed how churches and stakeholders mount pressure on him and his office on how to reduce accidents during yuletide but feel relaxed after the celebration.
