Residents of Yawhima-Kuotokrom and Drivers Demonstrate Over Delay in Road Construction. 

Some residents and drivers who took part in the demonstration said, even though the road has been given to a contractor for rehabilitation but the project has been abandoned leaving the residents to suffer on the road in its bad state.

The residents and drivers of Yawhima and Kuotokrom in the Sunyani East Constituency of the Bono Region has today 13th June 2022 embarked on a massive demonstration against the government over the deplorable state of their major road and the delay of the contractor from Kuotokrom to Yawhima.

According to some residents and drivers who took part in the demonstration said, even though the road has been given to a contractor for rehabilitation but the project has been abandoned leaving the residents to suffer on the road in its bad state. 

The demonstrators walked from Yawhima through to Kuotokrom, New Dormaa, and ended at the Bono Regional Minister's office to present their petition to the Minister, Honourable Justina Owusu Awo Banahene to plead with her to help complete the road on time. 

The Minister who received the petition assured them of her readiness to make sure the road is completed sooner or later for flee flow of transportation.

The demonstrators holding placards with different inscriptions are crying at the government especially the Minister in charge of Roads and Highways as a matter of urgency to fulfill all the necessary support needed to complete the ongoing road on time.
