Repurpose seized excavators as law says- Lawyer to government
Lawyer Eric Owusu- Sae (Private Legal practitioner)

Lawyer Eric Owusu- Sae, a private legal practitioner has called on the government to repurpose confiscated excavators and mining equipment as by law establishes.

This according to him, will foster development in the country, especially in rural areas. He was speaking on Issues on Ark Fm monitored by SoireeNews, saying the practice by the security forces is outmoded and must be condemned.

Lawyer Owusu- Sae noted, the burning of these excavators is likely to land the country in the payment of judgment depth by the country should victims of the same test the law as indicated by President Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo. President last week charged citizens whose mining equipment has suffered the same in the hands of Operation Halt II to go to court to seek redress.

His comment has however been met with a lot of backlash as Occupy Ghana and other CSO’s have described the act as illegal. Lawyer Eric Owusu Sae however questioned the argument by some citizenry who fears the seized excavators could be lost just like the over 500 excavators which were seized by Operation Vanguard, saying if the trust to keep such equipment is lost, then where are the Ghanaian leadership?
