The head of the economic department of the garden city university college, Dr. Francis Tandoh has expressed worry about the rate of borrowing by governments in the country without using the money for its intended purposes.

For him, the attitude poses a great danger to the Ghanaian Youths.

Speaking to Ghanaba, host of Shaft Fm morning show, monitored by Soireenews, the astute economist described the happening as sad.

"It's sad how the government has resorted to borrowing than prudent measures that will develop the country positively"

"What pains me is that these monies are not used for its intended purposes. We're not constructing roads, neither are we building bridges, no monumental projects are being undertaken with the money. In essence, if we are leaving all those things behind for the youths to do so, where is the good country we claim to be building for them" he quizzed. We are jeopardizing their future if we keep on at the pace," he stated.

Ghana's current debt stock stands at 296.1 billion cedis and it's expected to cripple the economy if nothing is done about it immediately.
