President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo has been enstooled as ‘nkosuohene’ by the queen mother of Chiraa, Nana Yeboah Pene for what she described as outstanding governance.

The stool name given to the president was Okogyeman Odumankomahene Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo with all traditional rites performed on Wednesday when the president climaxed his two-day tour to the Bono Region.

According to the queen mother, the enstoolment was done to recognize the commander in chief of the Ghana Armed Forces for his courageous fight against the deadly coronavirus that has claimed many lives since its outbreak in 2020.

She noted that the level of leadership demonstrated by the President amidst the pandemic corroborates that he is a gift from God to Ghana and deserves appreciation. Nana Yeboah Pene admitted that although some Ghanaians have succumbed to the virus, it has been managed better as compared to other developed countries that have lost thousands of lives to the pandemic.

A stool, Kante cloths for the President and the First Lady, sandals, and other traditional regalia for chiefs were presented to the President as well as a sheep, tubers of yam, etc.

The Queen mother also appealed to Nana Akufo-Addo to give the Chiraa market a facelift and a regional sports stadium to help develop the many talents in the region. The president thanked the Queen-mother, chiefs, and the people of Ghana for the honour done to him.
