Bono Regional Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Asare Bediako Seth is accusing Ghanaian politicians of being hypocritical about the fuel price hikes in the country.

His comment follows the pressure on the government by the NDC to reduce tax on petroleum products to help manage the menace.

According to him, both NPP and NDC's reaction to the price of fuel is determined by whether they are in opposition or in government. “The approach of both political parties is different when they are in opposition”, he said

“A permanent solution strategy must be adopted to deal with the menace of increasing rate but that aside, the NDC has no moral right to pressure the government on that”, he added.

On the other hand, Vincent Antwi Adjei, the Sunyani East Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is blaming the government for its failure to scrap taxes on petroleum products.

Meanwhile, Driver unions in the country have threatened a strike if nothing is done about the fuel price hikes.
