Passengers from Obuasi to Asokwa Junction plead with the government and the Ministry of Roads and Highways to as a matter of urgency instruct the contractor (Justmore construction Limited) to swiftly come back to the site.

Obuasi to Asokwa Junction gained its part of the ongoing construction of roads, but due to an abandoned bridge by the contractor Justmore construction Limited between Pomposo and Asonkori, passengers were stranded in the early hours of 5:30 am on Saturday, August 28 in the Ashanti Region.

“Our roads are being constructed at a faster pace than before, and yes, there are still many more kilometres to construct".

The president defined last year as the year of roads. "This year will be the second year of roads as we continue with our focus on dealing with the deficits of our road infrastructure".

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo declared 2021 as the “second year of roads”.

A trailer truck that was onboard from Asokwa Junction heading to Obuasi developed a fault on the said abandoned bridge, between Pomposo and Asonkori, due to the blockage causing a single lane on the spot, passengers were forced to alight and walk to their various destinations.

Soireenews in engagement with some passengers plead with the government and the Ministry of Roads and Highways to as a matter of urgency instruct the contractor (Justmore construction Limited) to swiftly come back to the site and complete the abandoned spots to ease the hardship on drivers, pedestrians and passengers who day in day out use Obuasi to Asokwa road.
