Eastern Region has elected Paa Kofi Ansong to represents the region at the Council of State.

He emerged the winner of the elections for pulling a whopping 66 votes representing 100% of the total votes cast after his contender Mr. James Amanor Ossom, a 55-year old Mechanical Engineer had stepped down

As the standard operation procedures in this pandemic era required, the elections were conducted by the Electoral Commission in Koforidua, and under a strict Covid-19 protocols observation including wearing of face masks, hand washing, and social distancing.

 Background

Paa Kofi Ansong is a Ghanaian biochemist, entrepreneur, and businessman.

He is the co-founder and chairman of the venture capital group Inveterate International.

He serves on several Ghanaian boards including the director of Adehyeman Savings and Loans Company Ltd.

He was appointed to the Council of State in the year 2017 by his Excellency Nana Addo Danquah.
