Outgoing District Chief Executive commissions Two Classroom Blocks

The District Chief Executive for the  Akrofuom District, Honourable Maurice Jonas Wood has commissioned two classroom blocks in his district on September 23, 2021.

The aim is to enhance education within the district. He said, putting up new buildings is one of the positive ways of making schooling attractive to students.

The commissioning was witnessed at Anorkrom a community in the Akrofuom district and  Kofi Jaame as well.

Commissioning the three-unit primary classroom block at Anorkrom, the DCE stressed that, one of the major problems which keep wards from schooling is child labour hence the need for every parent to allow his or ward to attend school to eradicate such behaviours and also improve the education system in the district.

The DCE, while commissioning a three-unit classroom block at Kofi Jaame he cautions parents who take their wards along to mining sites to halt such happenings but rather encourage and motivate the kids to attend school because, with education, the possibility of living a good life is secured the DCE added.

Media engagement with the DCE Hon Maurice Jonas Wood said although he is leaving office as soon as DCE because he was not named to continue his work as DCE for Akrofuom district, he will give out the necessary support to eradicate child labour and enhance education in the district. 

Touching on developmental projects he said, a lot of measures have been putting in place to bring projects such as school, access to electricity, and quality road network to the district, He promised.

On his part, the District Director of education for Akrofuom, Mr Sarfo Kantanka added that the state of education in the district is a bit challenging but vital measures are in place to address them.

He said works on the education directorate in the Akrofuom District is quite hard looking at how the district involves more villages but his mandate is to ensure that quality education is witnessed in the district hence the directorate would work tirelessly until the positive goal of enhancing education in the district is achieved.
