A stalled hostel facility at the Bagabaga College of Education in Tamale has become an issue of concern to management.

Currently, there is pressure on the already existing hostel facilities making the fight against the covid-19 elusive.

As a result, authorities of the Bagabaga College of Education have called on Government to help complete the abandoned projects in order to reduce overcrowding at the existing ones.

Speaking to Soireenews, the Internal Auditor of the Bagabaga College of Education, Mr Abudu Lukman noted that most offices have been converted into hostels due to the inadequacy.

According to him, the Free Senior High School has compounded the situation, explaining that the institution used to admit 500 students every year, but as a result of the free Senior High School policy about 700 applicant's are admitted annually.

He mentioned that residents living around the school have taken advantage of the stalled project to smoke and a place for convenience during odd hours.

He added that young men of the area often take ladies to the facility at odd hours for their Personnel gains.

He said several appeals have been made to Government through the Northern Regional Minister, but nothing fruitful have come out of it.

According to him, the stalled project when completed would be able to house the entire student body.

Mr Abudu, therefore, appealed to Government and None governmental organizations to help complete the abandoned project.
