Official Courtesy Visit: Yoowa Overlord Praises Minister’s Drive To Restore Ashanti Region’s Growth

The Overlord of the Yoowa People in Ghana, His Royal Highness Saawa Yaalo Kwadaa I, accompanied by his sub-chiefs and council of elders, on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, at the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council in Kumasi.

The purpose of the visit was to formally congratulate the Minister on his appointment as Ashanti Regional Minister and to commend him for his outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment to the transformation of the Ashanti Region through infrastructure development and other strategic initiatives aimed at improving the lives of its people.

Addressing the gathering, HRH Saawa Yaalo Kwadaa I applauded Dr. Amoakohene for his dedication, humility, and sense of duty, describing his leadership as visionary and people-centred.

The chief noted that the visible progress being made across the region reflects the Minister's determination to restore the Ashanti Region to its rightful place as one of Ghana's leading centres of growth and development.

The Overlord further observed that the Minister's commitment to public service is setting an excellent example for the younger generation, demonstrating that when young people are entrusted with leadership responsibilities, they can deliver meaningful results. 

According to HRH, Dr. Amoakohene's performance is laying a strong foundation that will encourage future governments to continue giving capable young Ghanaians the opportunity to serve their nation in higher positions of responsibility.

Receiving the delegation, Dr. Frank Amoakohene expressed his heartfelt appreciation to His Royal Highness, the sub-chiefs, and elders for taking the time to pay what he described as a remarkable and deeply encouraging visit. 

He stated that the confidence and prayers of respected traditional leaders such as HRH Saawa Yaalo Kwadaa I continue to inspire him and strengthen his resolve to serve the people of the Ashanti Region and Ghana with dedication, humility, and integrity.

The Minister acknowledged the indispensable role of traditional authorities in promoting peace, unity, and development and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the partnership between government and traditional institutions for the benefit of the people.

HRH Saawa Yaalo Kwadaa I also expressed profound gratitude to His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama for his confidence in the youth of Ghana and for creating opportunities for young, competent leaders to occupy strategic positions in national development.

He described the President's leadership as a demonstration of faith in the capabilities of Ghana's younger generation and a significant step toward building a stronger and more prosperous nation.

As part of the visit, the Overlord offered special prayers for Dr. Frank Amoakohene, asking Almighty God to bless him with good health, long life, wisdom, strength, and courage to continue serving with distinction. 

He also invoked the blessings, protection, and guidance of the ancestors upon the Minister, praying that he would remain steadfast and successful throughout his tenure.

Responding, Dr. Amoakohene, on behalf of the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council, expressed profound appreciation for what he described as a memorable and historic visit. 

He thanked HRH Saawa Yaalo Kwadaa I and the Yoowa Traditional Council for their encouragement and goodwill.

 The Minister further pledged his unwavering support to the Yoowa people and assured the Overlord that he would honour invitations to their festivals and other significant royal programmes whenever his official schedule permits.

In his closing remarks, HRH Saawa Yaalo Kwadaa I encouraged the Regional Minister to remain bold, fearless, truthful, and unwavering in his service to the people of the Ashanti Region and Ghana. 

He urged him to continue upholding the highest standards of integrity, fairness, and accountability as he leads the region's development agenda.

The Overlord also took the opportunity to convey his highest respect and warm royal greetings to His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, acknowledging his distinguished leadership, wisdom, and immense contribution to preserving the rich cultural heritage, peace, unity, and progress of the Ashanti Kingdom.

The visit concluded in an atmosphere of mutual respect and goodwill, underscoring the enduring partnership between traditional leadership and government in advancing sustainable development, good governance, and national unity.
