Nigerian woman to surpass Afua Asantewaa's record as she prepares to sing constantly for 130 hours

A teenage Nigerian singer named Jazmine Sawacha has also announced her plans to sing for 130 hours straight nonstop, only days after Ghana's Afua Asantewaa concluded her bid to break the Guinness World Record for singathons.

Citing a viral poster, Jazmine announced that she would be starting a 130-hour singing marathon in March that would be recorded in Lagos, Nigeria in March 2024 and certified as a Guinness World Record.

Just two days earlier, Afua Asantewaa Owusu Aduonum gave Guinness World Records her last piece of evidence.

Although confirmation from the Guinness World mark judges is still pending, Asantewaa's performance is thought to have greatly surpassed the previous mark, which was established by Sunil Waghmare of India in 2012.

The irrefutable documentation of Afua Asantewaa Aduonum's incredible sing-a-thon attempt was formally submitted to the Guinness Book of World Records last week for verification and assessment.

Afua Asantewaa stated in an interview with Graphic Online that the last piece of evidence was turned in on Saturday, January 6, 2024, which signified the end of her incredible musical journey.
