Nigeria to close land borders on election day

All of Nigeria's land borders will be closed on Saturday during the hotly fought elections.
According to the Nigeria Immigration Service, the directive is intended to guarantee that the "elections are free, fair, and without irregularities."
Border officials have been instructed to guarantee that the directive is strictly followed.
According to reports, the presidential and parliamentary elections will feature the fiercest competition since the end of military control in 1999.
In the lead-up to the elections, the immigration service reported seizing 6,000 voters cards and other Nigerian identification papers from unauthorized immigrants.
