NEGLIGENCE OF NURSES AT MANKESSIM ROMAN HOSPITAL ARE CAUSING MORE DEATHS, ANGRY RESIDENTS DESCEND ON NURSES AS THE HOSPITAL DEATHS RATE IS HIGH

Angry residents of Mankessim and its environment in the Central Region have descended heavily on nurses and the Hospital authorities of Saint Mercy Women's Catholic  Hospital in Mankessim as the hospital is recently recording high deaths rate in the Municipality and Central Region as a whole.

According to the residents, the high deaths rate of the Hospital is a result of the negligence of some of the nurses and the hospital authorities.

They said the majority of the nurses at the hospital don't respect and usually ignores patients when they go there for medical support.

The residents said they don't understand why people are dying nowadays at the hospital.

Some of the Residents who were maltreated at the hospital sometimes ago said, the activeness of the nurses when returning to a patient's are very poor and this has contributed to the high deaths rate at the hospital.

The performance in terms of health care is poor something needs to be done immediately to save more lives.

The resident threatened not to seek medical support from the hospital again if they don't change their behaviour.

According to information gathered, indicates that the hospital is the second-largest in West Africa in terms of facilities and health Care but residents don't understand why the deaths rate of the hospital has increased within a short period.

Some also hinted that the hospital is having all the facilities but their conditions of services are very poor.

They said the nurses are always on their phones chatting, playing games, doing their conversation whiles patients are at the hospital for Medical Examination which according to the Residents is bad behaviour that needs to be abolished.

They are therefore appealing to the government to do something about it immediately for many innocent people are dying due to the negligence of some nurses and the hospital authorities.

Meanwhile, the  Administrator of Saint Mercy Woman's Catholic Hospital Mrs Matha  Amoah admitted some bad behaviour of some of her Hospital workers and has described it as a human character.

The Administrator according to her, has also received numerous bad comments on some parts of the hospital workers and according to her, the hospital administration is doing their best to investigate all the negative comments received so far from the general public.

She seeks forgiveness from the General Public for the bad attitudes of some of the health workers towards their work, she promised to do their best to educate that workers more to be able to desist from such unacceptable behaviour.

She said, enough education has been given to the hospital workers on attitudes towards work but doesn't understand why they are still insisting to behave in such a manner.

In addition, the acting Medical Director of the hospital Mr Silas Amponsah also bemoaned that, some of the hospital workers somethings with their money to support some of the patients in terms of food and Hospital bills when their family members ignore than when they are at the hospital receiving treatment.

He then blamed some of the patients for mostly circulating bad news from the hospital leaving the good things the hospital is doing to assist the residents from the area.

He then also appealed to the general public to calm down if they heard or attends to in a bad manner, he urged the residents to report any negative behaviour towards them by the nurses to the hospital authorities and proper checks or punishment will be given to such the person.

He then appealed to the general public for forgiveness and as they are going forward things will be better.
