A philanthropist, Mr Emmanuel Suglo has supported renovating and maintenance on the water project at Tuna in the Sawla/Tuna/Kalba district of the Savannah region.

A non-governmental organization, Global Communities Ghana, working on behalf of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) constructed a Small Town Water Supply System in Tuna under its WASH project facilities in Ghana but unfortunately breakdown.

The facility is the only portable source of drinking water in the community and needed to be fixed for the people. The renovation and maintenance work caught the attention of Mr Emmanuel Suglo who provided an undisclosed amount to support the Global Communities Ghana to maintain the project.

The manager of Tuna Small Town Water supply System, Mr Dongu Tokoro Justice confirmed receipt of the money on behalf of the Tuna Community for the maintenance work.

He expressed the community's appreciation to Mr Suglo for the gesture and promised the usage of the money judiciously to complete the project.

The maintenance work included the drilling of boreholes in order to expand access in the community and also renovate the existing system for the continued flow of water. The borehole project is on verge of installation and would be commissioned soon for the people.

Moving around the project site by the philanthropist, officials of the water project and some members of the community visited the areas to ascertain the level of work.
The community members expressed their excitement with the support provided by Mr Suglo because the community has been facing water crisis for some time now.

Mr Emmanuel Suglo also had plans to initiate a will foundation in the quest to support education and health sectors in the area.

He has, however, earlier donated some computers to the Tuna Senior High Tech school.

The Philanthropist has promised to extend some of his activities to Sawla and other communities in the Sawla-Tuna-Tuna district.
