"We Need Our Share Of The National Cake"- Kwabre East Residents Tell NPP
Kwabre East

Residents of Kwabre East Constituency in Ashanti Region have called on the New Patriotic Party Government to endow the Constituency with infrastructural development this year.

The residents claim NPP has sidelined the constituency in terms of infrastructural development irrespective of their affection for the party.

The Kwabre East is considered the stronghold of the NPP however, "the Constituency is challenged with good roads infrastructures despite its allegiance to the party.

Assembly for Mamponteng Mr Ampadu stated on Oyerepa FM today, monitored by Soireenews reporter Joseph Marfo that "Kwabre East deserves better, therefore, the Constituency must have its share of the national cake in 2021".

The Assemblymember further explained that since the Kwabere East Constituency has played a major role in NPP's victory in 2016 and 2020 Elections, the Akufo-Addo's led Government must endow the Constituency its share of the national cake.

“We're expecting nothing but our Government must construct and asphalt all the deplorable roads in this Constituency".

"We want our Government to develop our constituency because we have contributed to the success of the party and we're in our 2nd term of office, therefore our share of the national cake must be share among us equally”, some concerned residents at Kenyasi spoke with Soiree News in an exclusive interview.

Kwabre East is considered the stronghold for the New Patriotic Party(NPP). Among the 275 constituencies in Ghana, the Kwabere East Constituency had contributed massively to the victory of NPP in 2016 and 2020 elections.

Comparatively, per every Constituency's general elections results in Ghana, particularly, 2016 and 2020, the Kwabere East fetched NPP with the highest number of votes.

Thus: in 2016, NPP had (71,112 total votes = 81.77%) as against their bitter rivals, NDC who accumulated (15,503 votes= 17.83%).
Then in  2020 elections NPP attracted (86,437 votes= 77.41%) and NDC (24,692 total votes= 22.11%).

Again, NPP has won parliamentary seats consecutively in the past four Elections, therefore, this apparently indicates that indeed, Kwabere East is NPP’s votes bank.
