Mr. John Boadu, general secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has indicated the party's determination to break the eight-year cycle of government in office to accelerate the country’s development.

He stated that Ghanaians must give the ruling NPP government another term of office in 2024 to continue developing Ghana and not be drawn back by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) again.

"Forget about the NDC and give us another term of office in 2024 to continue with our good work, because they will draw the country back if you vote for them," the statement of John Boadu.

He was addressing a press conference in Techiman, capital of Bono East Region, after meeting the executives of the party in the region as part of the party’s measure to ascertain the shortfalls during the 2020 general election and the way forward.

Mr. Boadu stressed that the NPP would not want to allow the creation of an avenue for political parties in government to “create, loot, and share” in the country.

The slim parliamentary gap between the NPP and the NDC was not what we anticipated, so we are determined to work to resolve any misunderstandings to enable the party to have a comfortable majority in Parliament in the next Parliament, he added.
